The Advisory Board is the directing body of ICLN and meets once a year in The Hague. The Advisory Board helps the management guide the overall direction and strategy of ICLN.

The main tasks of the Advisory Board are:
- To evaluate and determine the core activities of ICLN;
- To identify partners and providers of courses, conferences and other services;
- To advise on the structural exchange of knowledge between practitioners, academics and policymakers;

Elies van Sliedregt Professor van Sliedregt is President of ICLN since May of 2009. She is professor of International Criminal Law at the Free University of Amsterdam. She is also a member of the editorial boards of the Leiden Journal of International Law and the European Constitutional Law Review. Her research focuses not only on international criminal law, but also European criminal law and comparative criminal law.

 Image Antonio Cassese Mr Cassese is an Italian jurist. He was the first President of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia from 1993 to 1997. In October 2004, Cassese was appointed as Chairperson for the International Commission of Inquiry on Darfur. In March 24, 2009, Cassese was appointed by the United Nations to be the President for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon which was established by the United Nations Security Council in 2007.
  Image  Roy Lee As the Executive Secretary to the International Criminal Court Conference, Mr Lee is responsible for the organization and management of the Conference and its subsidiary bodies. Mr. Lee  joined the United Nations in 1967 in the Division of Human Rights. In 1972, he joined the law of the sea Secretariat and became Secretary of the First Committee of the Third U.N. Conference on the Law of the Sea. In 1982 he moved to the Office of Legal Affairs as Principal Legal Officer in the Office of the Legal Counsel.  He is currently Director of the Codification Division in the Office of Legal Affairs and also acts as Secretary of the International Law Commission and of the Sixth (Legal) Committee of the General Assembly.
 Image Hans Nilsson Professor Nilsson is the Head of the Division of Judicial Cooperation at the Council of the European Union in Brussels. In that function, he has been on several expert missions to Central and Eastern European Countries. He has also been secretary to numerous committees of experts for the Council of Europe and has been a European Union representative to international organizations conferences. Since 1997 he is also visiting Professor of European Law at the Collège d’Europe in Brussels.
 Image Göran Sluiter Professor Sluiter is professor of international criminal procedural law at the University of Amsterdam. He is a former member of the defence team of Germaine Katanga and currently an advisor of Radovan Karadzic. He also drafts the case for the International Criminal Court Trial Competition.
ImageJozias van Aartsen Mr van Aartsen is the Mayor of The Hague. He was a member of the Dutch House of Representatives in 1998. After this year Mr van Aartsen became the Ministry of Foreign Affairs till 2002. From 2003 till 2006 he was Chair of the Parliamentary Party of the VVD in the House of Representatives.
 Image Michaïl Wladimiroff Mr Wladimiroff is one of the most well renowned criminal lawyers in the Netherlands and founding partner of the law firm Wladimiroff Advocaten in The Hague. He has represented international organizations and has been involved with cases for international courts and tribunals. Mr Wladimiroff is also active in numerous Dutch national and international advisory committees and insititutional cooperation organizations. He was also the former Amicus Curiae of the ICTY in the Milosevic-case.

Mauro Politi Mr Politi is professor of international law at the University of Trento, Italy. He was a former judge at the ICC and was elected from the Western European and Others Group of States. He has been a Legal Adviser to the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations. He also served on the Italian Delegation to the Preparatory Commission of the ICC. In 2001, Judge Politi was elected by the United Nations General Assembly to be on the list of ad litem judges of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.
